Loved it. Felt many emotions throughout when I played it.

Art, music and code by Hadrian Lin.
This is an authentic Gameboy game that runs in the browser, with an emulator or on original hardware.
- Arrow Keys / WASD to move
- alt / Z / J to interact
- ctrl / k / x to toggle walk speed
A cartridge version is in the cooker. It will look slick with a case, labeled cartridge and either art cards or a manual showcasing pixel art from the game. Hopefully something to show off on your coffee table along with your Gameboy to indifferent guests.
The cartridge version will have chiptune music and, if my mad plan succeeds, perhaps the ability to plug a headphone line from the Gameboy to a mic line of a computer or a smartphone to hear the same high-def sound effects as the browser version of the game.
Reserve now and when the cart becomes available summer 2021, it will sell for $60 USD but you will get it for $40 by paying the remaining $20. (Save $20)
You will get a pixel portrait right now also.
I hope to get at least 100 people on board otherwise it's difficult to cover the costs to do this. If there is not enough support to do a production run and you have already paid, then you still get a pixel portrait and I will put your portrait on the final ROM version of the game. (There will be credit screens that show contributors)
Shipping not included but United States/Canada delivery is about $10 - $15. International may range from $10 - 30.
(Please read everything above before pre-purchasing. You are welcome to donate more if you want. I will add perks later, like perhaps a personalized custom message on carts when it loads up if you donate more than $90)
GET YOUR OWN PIXEL PORTRAIT
If you feel like dropping a donation to help me make more stuff please click the donate button under the game or down below.
Donate more than $9 and I will make a pixel portrait of you (16x16px 4-color) and post it here.

Very good story, sounds, and atmosphere!
I like how sometimes you are glimpsed, like by the dog, or when she was hurt, though I was a bit confused by "I'm not dead yet you vulture!" since it was said as you leave, so I thought at first that I was supposed to do something - it would have been clearer if it was said when you approach.
I like how much expression is in where people look, how they pause, start to do something and stop and such - the dog even looked old by the way he moved. I like how in the past that could have been, the past self glimpses the future self. I also like the climb up the mountain passing through the seasons of life - the arrangements of the scenery were able to make it feel very high up, even on the limited screen.
How many secrets are there? Is there ever anything in the two forest spots off the path?
Thank you for a very good story!
this art is great!
this was really lovely. the way you used colours & screen transitions was very cool. when playing through i was surprised (and a bit unhappy) that a choice i made had a big impact since i didn't know it would, but then as i played through the way the choice presented itself made sense (and i like that this is brought up in the ending too).
absolutely loved the animals <3
it's very lovely, i really dig it!
Really great example of story telling without relying on graphics.
Interested in seeing what else the Dev will come up with
How can a game make me so sad and happy at the same time! This is a freaking masterpiece.
Amazing. This is a work of art. The emotional story is beautiful. Nearly everything about this game, I love.
The only problem is a few glitches. For example: Playing the woman, her hair would occasionally turn black.
Thanks for the feedback. The hair flickering was supposed to be intentional. I've removed it for now because several people thought it was a bug.
Holy cow you made front page! Proud of you dude!
Amazing game. I cried. Music is top tier, and I loved the twist on what the player character was.
This game is SO beautiful. I cried.
Very beautiful and emotional, the music is wonderful
wow, first, the start was very interesting, when you can move in the name of the game :). the scene was really nice too,
I wish I had more to say but I did enjoy it. Emotional ride!
This was just amazing. Really, really, really well done. Thank you for making this.
Thanks everyone for comments! I'm glad you're enjoying it.
Touching and beautiful - great work! I hope you make more. Best of luck with the cartridge.
Incredible work! Really impressive use of limitations to focus the game and player experience
this is amazing! I love all the tiny details such as characters turning around to look at you and how the seasons change. thank you so much for making this!!! <3<3<3
Masterfully tells a touching story with so few words. The music especially adds to the experience. Well done!
really beautiful, thank you
i like how the game is 100% story and 0% gameplay but still enjoyable!
I could almost imagine something like this as a Netflix show lol
Fantastic piece of art! Both technically impressive and emotionally heartwarming!
If you like stories regarding life or "slice of life" genres this is definitely for you. I personally am more into action and fantasy, so this felt a bit slow for me, but I can definitely see how it can be a gem. Overall, it just depends on personal liking. Still, I'll admit it was rather cute and touching, so good work!
Great game! Love the creativity and the end was very sad to me. The pixels also added something for me. Thank you.
this was amazing. first game I have finished on itch.io, and it was worth it.
what a beautiful bittersweet game
oh my gosh this is so cute and SAAAADDDD when I got to the end and the mom confronted the watcher and being all upset when she said "you didnt really choose him did you" imma be honest i didnt i had no idea i was choosing something until after i had already sent the dad out lol but this was a great game loved it I found some of the secrets (you can go over rivers in winter for those of you who havent found the secret area) i was very confused by them though AWESOME GAME probably wouldn't play again though because its too sad :(
Wow, your game looks great! I'm a Portuguese translator, if you'd be down I'd love to translate the game for you.
Sounds interesting! I’ll contact you.
Nicely done. I loved your way of storytelling. Looking forward to seeing more games from you
Hey, there~! I'm LUIGINATOR, and I run a small YouTube channel! I love the look of your game, and I'd love to do a video on it! I always ask permission first out of respect to the devs, so would it be alright with you if I do that?
Thank you. Go for it!
Aww, it's so great!
What an incredible game, well done! Blown away
